Waka Kotahi | Contractor health and safety expectations: guidance for supply chain partners document

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency have made amendments to their document,“Contractor health and safety expectations: guidance for supply chain partners”.

These amendments include:

  • incorporate the “Minimum requirements – workplace personal protective equipment” table as Appendix A, removing the requirement for a separate document
  • insertion of a new section “6.1 COVID-19 Management”
  • insertion of a new section “6.4 Worker health and wellbeing”
  • update section 7.7 Temporary Traffic Management to manage risk using the risk-based approach in the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. Adoption of the risk-based     approach can be made now and wherever possible to lower the risk to road workers and road users so far as reasonably practicable.
  • update section 6.3 Fatigue Management, removing the requirement for the “Contractor expectations: fatigue management” document
  • the following sub-sections have been moved from section “6. Waka Kotahi Specific Risk Management Requirements” to Section “5. Waka Kotahi General Health and Safety Expectations of Contractors”
  • 6.2 Drug & Alcohol Impairment Management
  • 6.3 Fatigue Management
