Things that need to change - a need for workforce upskilling in New Zealand

Representatives of some of New Zealand’s biggest civil construction projects are collaborating to help lift the sector’s health and safety performance.

The group, which includes representatives from the Transmission Gully motorway (Wellington Gateway Partnership), Pūhoi to Warkworth(Northern Express Group- NX2) and City Rail Link (City Rail Link Limited - CRLL) along with the NZ Transport Agency, Zero Harm, and Construction Health and Safety NZ (CHASNZ) kick-started their collaboration with a workshop in December 2018. The combined value of the projects represented in the collaboration exceeds NZ$10 billion and together they account for a workforce in excess of 2,000 people.
