The Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of New Zealand (HFESNZ) | Development of HFE Resources Survey

Want to help shape the future of Human Factors/Ergonomics (HFE) in New Zealand? The Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of New Zealand (HFESNZ) are reaching out to industry members to give them a voice on how HFE can best support them. This questionnaire is part of a larger project funded by WorkSafe and Health and Safety Association of NZ (HASANZ) through the HFESNZ. It aims to further develop the capacity of the Human Factors and Ergonomics profession in New Zealand, to support the improvement of safety, performance and well-being in New Zealand.

To do this, the HFESNZ are initially launching a questionnaire survey across a broad range of NZ industries to identify where the gaps and needs in HFE are. Below is a link to the questionnaire that you and/or your health and safety and other relevant staff will be able to complete. This will help the HFESNZ understand where HFE is currently being undertaken, and what is understood by HFE, which will guide the development of HFE resources.

It is expected that there will be differences across industries in terms of their understanding of what HFE encompasses. Some industries may simply want a better understanding of what HFE is or have specific issues of concern. Regardless, there are no right or wrong answers.

The benefits for you:

  • An opportunity to be sent a summary of the findings of the questionnaire
  • Learning about HFE
  • Influencing the use of HFE in NZ industry

This survey will take approximately 10 mins to complete and you are encouraged to share it with your colleagues. If you would like more information, please contact Rachael Gordon via HFESNZ.
